Computer Science Education Week 2020
December 2020 has arrived, and just as Arkansas has for the past five years in December, the state is honoring Grace Hopper’s birthday by celebrating Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) December 7th through the 13th.
Governor Asa Hutchinson, who continues to receive national and even international recognition for our state’s work in Computer Science Education, formally designated, via proclamation, next week as Computer Science Education Week in Arkansas. Found at: https://bit.ly/GovProcCSedWeek2020
The Arkansas State Board of Education (SBE) also recognized the significance of the week by adopting a CSEdWeek resolution during its November 2020 meeting. Found at: https://bit.ly/SBECEWRes2020
Over the next week, the state encourages Arkansas schools, after-school organizations, civic organizations, and industries to promote computer science education. One easy and safe way to do this is to encourage your students and members to join the over one-billion individuals who have completed an Hour of Code at https://hourofcode.com/.
